Project Centre  »  Transport planning and development
Project Centre has a proven track record in the provision of transport planning expertise to help public and private sector clients address their challenges in the management and improvement of transport networks. We can take projects from conception through to completion and our expertise includes policy development, behavioural analysis and modelling. We also conduct cutting-edge research into new transport technologies and sustainable travel solutions.
We’ve been at the forefront of designing and influencing behaviour change towards active travel for over a decade. From designing active travel routes during the 2012 London Olympics to implementing the renowned Waltham Forest Mini-Holland project, we’ve been improving air quality, championing road safety and protecting vulnerable road users across the country.
At Project Centre, we’ve worked with local authorities across the country, providing extensive engagement strategies, detailed designs and network planning, to implement sustainable mobility and maximise the funding allocated to our clients by the government.
Our extensive portfolio includes creating liveable neighbourhoods, school streets, low traffic neighbourhoods, controlled parking zones, quiet routes and cycle routes. We’ve secured government funding for clients and have worked with Active Travel England on schemes.

As we work in multi-disciplinary teams, we can offer innovative and tailored solutions at every stage of a project, integrating transport, parking, walking and cycling facilities within the proposals, ensuring the site operates efficiently and facilitates sustainable access.

Over the years, we’ve built strong relationships with clients and stakeholders to understand the complexity of technical inputs as well as communicating key ambitions and actions effectively.
With our solid understanding of the latest policies, we have helped local authorities across the country, such as Newham Council, Windsor and Maidenhead and the City of Edinburgh Council, to develop innovative and sustainable transport strategies.

Project Centre has a wealth of experience in providing travel demand management services to help influence travel changes from single car usage to sustainable and active travel.
We prioritise understanding how people make their travel decisions and provide travel behaviour expertise based on effective transport strategies and policies.

Project Centre has extensive expertise in designing and delivering Construction Logistics Plans (CLPs), a key tool to tackle the impact of construction schemes and supply chains on the road network. Â
A well-developed Construction Logistics Plan will mitigate the dangerous repercussions of construction programmes, by reducing vehicle trips and emissions, noise levels and congested roads. Overall, it will help to improve the safety of the community and the environment. Â
Â
Â
Â
At Project Centre, we support private and public sector clients to realise the full benefits of CLPs, from implementing detailed measures to monitoring CLPs across the entire lifespan of a construction programme.Â
