As part of our efforts to highlight men’s health issues, it’s crucial to address the stigma around men’s mental health. Far too often, societal pressures prevent men from seeking the help they need, leaving many to suffer in silence.
This week, we’re focusing on two charities making a difference. Today, we share Jordan Barnes’ inspiring story of transformation and the support he found at Andysmanclub.
Jordan, a valued member of the Marston team for over a decade, reflects on a challenging period in his life when he reached a low point, isolating himself and struggling with anxiety and depression. Like many, he wore a mask, hiding his struggles behind phrases like “I’m fine.”
Everything changed when he discovered Andysmanclub. Despite his fear, Jordan pushed himself to attend a local meeting. Greeted with warmth, he found a safe, judgment-free space where he could open up at his own pace. Through simple yet powerful weekly discussions, Jordan learned he wasn’t alone, and others shared his feelings.
Now, as a facilitator at Andysmanclub, Jordan plays an active role in helping other men find hope and strength. His message is clear: “It’s okay to talk.”
